Hello and welcome. I’m Laura Frias, a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist (MSW, RSW) with over 12 years of experience supporting adults on their healing journeys.
I bring both professional expertise and deep cultural sensitivity to my practice. I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology at York University and completed my Master of Social Work at the University of Toronto. As an immigrant, I carry with me lived experiences that have shaped my understanding of identity, belonging, and resilience—important themes that often emerge in therapy.
My work includes offering counselling to individuals who are navigating immediate challenges such as anxiety, grief, low mood, or life transitions. Counselling provides a focused, short-term space to reflect, gain clarity, and build practical tools for daily life.
For those seeking deeper emotional insight and long-term growth, I also provide therapy rooted in evidence-based, trauma-informed approaches. Therapy can support you in processing long-standing patterns, unresolved emotions, or complex life experiences—at your own pace.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked in diverse settings, including community mental health agencies, private clinics, and hospital-based programs. These experiences have strengthened my compassionate, client-centered approach, where your unique story and needs are always respected.
In our sessions, I aim to create a warm, collaborative space where you feel safe, understood, and empowered. I support adults facing trauma, depression, low self-esteem, workplace stress, immigration-related transitions, and relationship challenges.
I offer counselling and therapy in English, Spanish, and Portuguese for residents of Ontario and Nova Scotia.
If you feel ready to begin or continue your journey, I invite you to reach out. Let’s reconnect with your strengths and create meaningful change—together.
